Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum's Autumn Regatta
to
Leisure Lake Spooner, Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Canoe Heritage Museum (WCHM) will host an Autumn Regatta at the Washburn County Leisure Lake Camp near Spooner, Wisconsin. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. Saturday with fun on and off the water and will continue through Sunday with a short Namekagon River paddle trip. The public is invited to bring canoes or other paddle craft, or just bring themselves, and enjoy a day or two at the lake. HIghlights include canoe events and games; a canoe paddle-by parade; a barbecue picnic dinner; a raffle drawing and auction; and an old-time dance with music from Duck For The Oyster. The regatta is a fundraising event for the museum. Admission for the afternoon events and games only (1-5 p.m. Saturday) is $5 for adults and free for kids. Admission for the evening dance only (7-11 p.m.) is also $5 for adults and free for kids. Or buy the $25 ($5 for kids) "Dinner & Weekend" ticket package, which includes all of the above plus the picnic dinner (and Sunday breakfast, too). Weekend-pass holders can stay overnight in one of the camp bunkhouses or cabins.
