St. Louis River Alliance (SLRA) 2012 Canoe Tour and Picnic

St. Louis River Alliance (SLRA) will offer its 2012 Canoe Tour and Picnic on Saturday, August 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year¹s event will begin and end at the Boy Scout Boating Landing at the end of Commonwealth Avenue (Highway 23) in Gary New Duluth. This is an opportunity for experienced and non-experienced canoeists and kayakers. The event includes a tour of the Radio Tower Bay habitat restoration project and will conclude with a picnic at Boy Scout Landing.The cost is $5 for SLRA members or $20 for the whole family. Non-members can sign up for $10 per person or $30 for a family. Children under 12 are free, but must be accompanied by an adult.  Kayakers are welcome. A limited number of canoes and kayaks are available free of charge, for those who don¹t have one.
