To commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day UMD's Baeumler Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration Committee is proud to present a talk by Leonore Baeumler. Mrs. Baeumler was born in Nuremberg, Germany, and started school in 1935. She will share stories from her childhood, which illustrate how the Nazis went about taking on power. This event is free and open to the public. As she notes, it took only six years from the time he became chancellor before Hitler had enough military power to implement his most ambitious plan – to conquer central Europe, and possibly the world. A reception will follow the talk.
