Sacred Heart Music Center 401 W. Fourth St., Duluth, Minnesota 55812
The Music Resource Center – Duluth Armory (MRC) program kicks off its seventh year of providing music opportunities to area teenagers. The Music Resource Center is a free after-school program that is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m. during the 2017-18 school year. It provides an alternative music education experience not found in the region. The program includes private lessons, rehearsal spaces, professional quality instruments and state-of-the-art recording equipment. It also provides performance opportunities for students, including hosting monthly open mics, and creates an annual sampler CD of student music along with a CD release party in the spring. It's open to area students from sixth to 12th grade at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth. The MRC structures it program around the individual student’s skills and interests. This allows our students to work at their own pace and set their own goals. Most of our instructors are professional teachers and musicians with the skills to work with students at any level, and the experience to know how to motivate and draw out the best in them. The MRC is a program of the Armory Arts & Music Center and will move to its permanent home in the historic Duluth Armory on London Road once the armory is renovated.
