Carlton County Farm Tour
to
Carlton County Historical Society 406 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, Minnesota 55720
The Carlton County Historical Society is offering a tour of farming/agricultural sites in Carlton County on Saturday, October 10, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Carlton County has a rich history of farming and agriculture. It helped shape the county we know today. Join us as we visit several farms and areas that reflect that history.
With less than two percent of Americans living on a farm, the public is becoming more and more removed from farming practices and agricultural production. We will see and learn how farming attracted immigrants to the area and provided a livelihood for generations.
We will travel by bus to five sites and learn the history of the location and see structures that have survived the years. Lunch is included in the price and will be held at the Cloquet Forestry Center after a wagon tour through the woods.
The cost for this event is $32 per person. You can register by calling the Carlton County Historical Society at 218-879-1938, or stopping in at our museum, 406 Cloquet Avenue, Cloquet, MN. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Payment is required in advance to hold a place for you. Will we leave from and return to the Cloquet Super One rear parking lot. PLEASE NOTE: This event will require some walking and is not handicapped accessible.
