Lake Superior Storm Fest

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the shipwreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior. Storm-lovers will gather in Cook County Friday, Nov. 6 - Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 at the Lake Superior Storm Festival for cool weather events, including a history lesson on transit on the Big Lake, a fashion show, wave dash, musical performances and more.

Plus, Split Rock Light House near Two Harbors, Minn., is commemorating the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald during the 40th Anniversary beacon lighting ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 10 from noon-6 p.m. To learn more about the shipwreck, join historian Jim Shinners in Grand Marais at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, as he speaks about the Edmund Fitzgerald and the loss of its 29 crew members during the big storm that took it down.
