The 40th annual Head of the Lakes Jazz Festival will be held on the UMD campus, Friday and Saturday, March 8-9. This Festival will be non-competitive in nature, offering positive, learning-based experiences for young jazz ensembles and many outstanding performances.
in concert on Friday, March 8th will be the Carl Allen Quartet. Carl Allen, swing artist and drummer, has been teaching music and touring the nation since 1982. 7:30 p.m. at Weber Music Hall. Adults $19, seniors $17, UMD faculty/staff $5, students $5.
The Saturday evening featured guest artist will be Dave Pietro, saxophonist, composer and music educator, performing with UMD Jazz Fest All-Stars/UMD Jazz I. 5 p.m. at Marshall Performing Arts Center. Adults $12, seniors $10, UMD faculty/staff $5, students $7, UMD students $5.
