Northland College Professor Erica Hannickel, author of Empire of Vines: Wine Culture in America, will talk about the history of wine fiction in the United States and shows clips from "Sideways” and "Bottleshock," Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at The Spot in Ashland. This lecture is part of the The Spot’s Cocktails & Culture monthly series.
The American vineyard romance genre was coined by one of the 19th century’s most famous authors, James Fennimore Cooper, an author better known for his creation of classic frontier cowboys-and-Indians novels, Hannickel says.
This event is free and open to the public (students under 21 are welcome and will receive a bracelet).
