The Carlton County Historical Society invites the public to attend a Christmas Party celebrating its 65th Birthday on Friday, December 12, at 1 p.m. at its museum at 406 Cloquet Avenue in Cloquet, Minnesota.
Guests will be welcomed by harp music played by Mary Hagen of Cloquet, while they view the museum's two current exhibits. The "Home for the Holidays" exhibit shows townspeople welcoming home Korean War veterans from the 1950s, and the "65 Treasures" exhibit features 65 items that are unique to Carlton County's history. The Madrigals from Cloquet High School will sing at 1:15 p.m., followed by introductions of dignitaries.
A decorated 65th birthday cake will be served, along with punch and coffee. A silent auction will take place and a tour of the basement storage areas will be offered.
Admission to the museum is $2 for adults, $1 for children under 12 and free for children under 5 and CCHS members. The museum is handicapped accessible. For more information call the CCHS at 218-879-1938.
