Marquette Commons 112 South Third St., Marquette, Michigan 49855
The South Shore Fishing Association (SSFA) is hosting a stream cleanup called Getting Kid’s on the River! It will be on the Whetstone Brook, May 20, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will meet at Marquette Commons at 112 Third Street in Marquette. The goal is to get young people involved in learning about the importance of the Whetstone as a local fishery, in addition to keeping it clean. The South Shore Fishing Association works to protect and promote the sport fishery on the south shore of Lake Superior. The public is encouraged to come and enjoy a day on the river and learn about the SSFA. A presentation by the Superior Watershed Partnership and lunch will follow at Marquette Commons from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.southshorefishing.upangler.com.
