“Sisterhood of War - Minnesota Women in Vietnam,” a lecture by Dr. Kim Heikkila, Kay Bauer & Mary Breed, will be presented in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29) and Women’s History Month as part of the Alworth Institute International Lecture Series, University of Minnesota Duluth. Dr. Heikkila will present her book, "Sisterhood of War," in which the service of 15 Minnesota nurses who served in Vietnam is documented. She will then facilitate a discussion with Kay Bauer and Mary Breed, military nurses who served in Vietnam. "Sisterhood of War" has been named a finalist for a 2012 Minnesota Book Award and the Hognander Minnesota History Award. The lecture will be at Montague Hall 70, 1211 Ordean Court at UMD and is free and open to the public. A book signing and reception will follow the lecture.
