Mothers and daughters looking for a one-of-a-kind bonding experience in Michigan’s great outdoors might want to try the upcoming Department of Natural Resources’ Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program designed just for them. On Saturday, July 13, the DNR will offer a one-day program for mothers and daughters (ages 10 to 17) who want to spend the day kayaking and hiking at Tourist Park in Marquette.
Sponsored by the DNR, this BOW program will start at 9 a.m. and finish around 3:15 p.m. Kayaks for the event are being donated by Downwind Sports in Marquette and Houghton. The cost is $25 per mother/daughter group and will also include an on-site cookout. Tourist Park is located at 2145 Sugarloaf Ave., in Marquette.
