Candlelight Ski, Skate and Snowshoe at Hartley Nature Center
to
Hartley Nature Center 3001 Woodland Avenue , Duluth, Minnesota 55803
Hartley Nature Center celebrates winter with its seventh annual Candlelight Ski, Skate and Snowshoe on Saturday, January 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. This event celebrates the cold weather season with a chance to enjoy all it gives us: silent woods, groomed trails, iced ponds and snowshoe access to unique areas of the park. Regardless of the snowpack, fun seekers will have the chance to join naturalist-led hikes, enjoy a light taco salad dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m., ice skate on Hartley Pond, visit a winter campsite, learn a little astronomy, and sip warm drinks while roasting marshmallows over a bonfire. If the snow arrives in time, participants can ski the luminary-lined Hartley cross-country trails and hike in snowshoes. The whole family is welcome. Because the event has become so popular and there is limited space, it's important to pre-register if you want to attend. There's no cost for Hartley members; the fee is $10 for non-members. Sign up by stopping in at the Nature Center or by calling 218-724-6735 during business hours.
